A senior at Puyallup High School was struck by a car yesterday morning whle trying to cross the street.
She was hospitalized at St. Joseph Medical Center and is reported in stable condition.
The authorities are investigating the accident. Apparently the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk. The driver of the car that struck her is also a Puyallup High School student.
It is not clear who is at fault for this unfortunate incident. If the driver carried Personal Injury Protection insurance coverage–mandatory in Washington–the pedestrian is entitled to benefits for medical expenses regardless of the driver or pedestrian’s fault.
