Residents of the Lake City area of Seattle staged a protest last Tuesday by carrying signs and parading across crosswalks to bring attention to pedestrian safety.
The group (named “Feet First”) conducted the demonstration in an area they believe is dangerous for pedestrians. (Some drivers weren’t too happy.) More cars and more development (including residential) has contributed to the increasing concern.
Many people are injured when–safely or unsafely–they try to cross the street in busy urban areas. Did you know that pedestrians are entitled to “no-fault” insurance benefits from drivers for medical expenses and wage loss in the event of an accident (in addition to damages which may be recovered from an at-fault driver or his or her insurance company)? If you were lawfully crossing a street and were injured by a negligent driver, we can help.
